5-Man Center Flag Series
1- random draw bracket series !
2- teams captain will draw there bracket or # when they check in the day of the event !
3- sister teams that draw same bracket will play first !
4- sister teams will play first if there is only enough teams to run a round robin with no finals !
5- when brackets are used top 2 teams from each bracket will move onto the rnd. robin finals !
5A- Minimum of 7 Games
6- all ties will be played off !
6A- teams that decide to split prizes/cash instead of playing it off will split the seed points as well !
6B- ranking points will be decided by a flip of the coin !
7- this series will have a new division in 2011 !
7A- don't worry it will not affect anyone !
8- hosting field will pick out the layout !
8A- layout will be posted 3 weeks before the event !
9- all events will strat at 9 a.m.
10- captains read and understand the basic rules !
10A- any event questions should be asked before the event (e-mail or phone) so that we can get the games started and finished asap!
PAINTBALLS
1- GLS paintballs only at all events !!
2- all GLS paint must be bought from the host field at the event
3- players shooting non GLS paint will have there team dq'd for that game and will recieve 0 points.
4- if a team is dq'd, the game will be called at that point and the opposing team will get points from that point in the game.
POINTS
1- 5 pts. per eliminated player
2- 5 pts. per live player
3- 15 pts. first pull
4- 25 pts. clean hang
5- no more bonus points
6- forfeits will result in an average of your other games (teams that don't forfeit)
7- teams that forfeit will receive zero points for that game.
8- -100 pts (5-man) -80 pts (3-man) for markers over 15 bps (or whatever the hosting field uses)
8B- due to insurance reasons some hosting fields may use a lower BPS, but that will be posted when all the fields & dates are completed.
9- markers with a 300 + velocity will have a 15 pt. penalty
GUNS
1- markers that are checked for high velocity will need to be under 300 fps
2- 285 fps or below to get on the field (should make rule 4B irrelevant) !
3- bright barrel socks only (no plugs or squeegies)
4- all markers will be checked for bps and speed with the BAT RADAR on the field if needed !!
4A- will check all chrono's that the hosting fields use that players tune there markers to in order to make sure that the radars are in sink and if not we will adjust the on field limit to make the speeds equal.
4B- (example) colors fields red radars have a 7 fps difference than the bat radar so players won't be penalized unless they shoot 307 + on the bat radar.
5- 15 BPS semi or ramp !
ON THE FIELD
1- Once entering the play field players must have there masks on.
2- It is each player’s responsibility to check himself and call himself out when he has been marked from an obvious hit. An “obvious” hit is a direct impact in the judge’s determination, the player should physically sense. Obvious hits consists of the marker, tank, loader, head, back, chest and legs. (loose pants = bad news)
3- flag hang ends the game (unless see rule #4)
4- if player that hung the flag has a hit on him, then there will be no hang and said player will be eliminated. Other team will get the hang if they have a live player left and hanging team has no one left.
4A- flag does not need to be hung if over 30 seconds left in a game and other team is all gone and other team knows it. if less than 30 seconds then flag must be hung. (saves so much time)
4B-head ref will only let you know if you NEED NOT hang it !!!!!!
5- playing on will result in a 2 for 1 plus 1 for every player that you shoot while obviously hit !!
6- make sure all old hits are removed before your next game.
7- all markers will b capped at 15 bps (semi or ramping)
7A- due to insurance reasons some hosting fields may use a lower BPS, but that will be posted when all the fields & dates are completed.
8- players false starting must return to start box before firing marker or they will be eliminated !!
9- 5 second warning
10- 5 minute games
10A- 4 min. for 3-man
11- no swearing (caught swearing and you will be eliminated)
12- continue swearing after you are out will results in a team mate joining you in the dead box
13- no coaching
14- unsportsman like behavior will result in you being eliminated !!
14A- intentionally overshooting a player with malice intent !! (refs discretion)
15- players that bunker another player and break 5+ distinguished marks on said player will have a 5 pt. penalty applied at the games end. (control your trigger finger)
15A- if you think that the penalty is wrong for overshooting because of ramping then don't ramp !!
16- players that continue to argue calls or taunt other players with trash talk will be eliminated or ejected !!
16A- 25 pt. penalty if player is ejected or was already eliminated before the argueing or taunting ensued !
17- we are trying to make this a fun series that family members will attend and that is why we have these rules !
17A- so if you are a player that can't hold his temper then this series isn't for you !
CLOTHES & EQUIPMENT
1- no PINK clothes, markers, masks, packs, hoppers etc. !
PLAYERS
1- every player must register & have a GLS ID #
2- no player will be allowed to play in the nationals unless they have played at least 1 qualifier
3- all players must be rostered two days before the event
4- if a player is ejected, that team can only use a player that is rostered on there team roster for that event or they play a man down.
5- all players must bring a picture id that will match your GLS registration (first, last and b-date) to every event.
6- only 1 player ranked higher than what the team is playing will be allowed on the roster !
7- players can only roster on one team per event !
8- players with an appa ranking of d-3 or higher must register in open class for there first event.
8A- if you are an appa d-3 player you can play on a lower division team your first event as long as you are the only open class player rostered.
9- players that start out in open class can only move down if they reach negative 8 points or more.
HOW GLS RANKINGS WORK
Podium - Placing in the cash/prizes
1- players will accumulate points by podiuming.
2- players will get 0 points for not podiuming. (rookie/novice only)
3- players will get a certain amount of points for the place they podium per event.
4- players will have to move up a division once they reach a certain amount of points.
5- once players move up they can get negative points for not podiuming.
6- once players move up they will need to get below the required points to move up (36) before they can drop back down.
7- players that play open class first and receive negative 8 points or more can drop down but will lose those negative points and start out at 0.
8- players that earn + seed points in the open class can't move down until they have negative 8 points or more.
9- players that are forced to move up can still play in the nationals lower division if they do not podium in the open class !
9A- then you can play nationals in the open class !
9B- the last chance qualifier will not count against anyones ranking until the next year.
RANKING POINTS
Rookie / Novice
Players must move up once reaching 36 pts !
1st- 20 pts
2nd- 15 pts
3rd- 10 pts
4th- 5 pts
5th and below = 0 pts
Open Class
1st- 20 pts
2nd- 15 pts
3rd- 10 pts
4th- 5 pts
5th- 0 pts
6th- 0 pts
7th- (-1 pts)
8th- (-2 pts)
9th- (-3 pts)
10th- (-4 pts)
11th on- (-5 pts)
The Great Lakes Series Open Champion will be decided by teams top 5 open qualifier scores and the nationals !
1- teams must play 5 qualifiers and nationals to be considered !
2- teams must have at least 2 players of the original roster per event to qualify incl. nationals !
3- teams can play as many qualifiers as they wish, but only there top 5 scores will be used !
4- nationals scores will also be used and if there is a tie, then the team that places the highest at nationals will be the champion.
5- SERIES CHAMPION WILL GET 5 LARGE CANVAS FRAMED TEAM PICS TAKEN AT THE NATIONALS !
5A- pics will take a couple weeks to get done and then will be sent to the captain !
6- series champion will also get there pic placed on the GLS website front page until a new champion is crowned !
